Žydrė is a Lithuanian violinist recognized for her innovative performance concepts, imaginative programming, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Her work explores the dialogue between classical and contemporary music, cross-cultural perspectives, and the intersection of sound with visual art, movement, literature, and multimedia. Now based in Japan, she researches Japanese contemporary composers and traditional aesthetics while creating artistic bridges between Lithuania and Japan.

Committed to expanding the contemporary violin repertoire, she has commissioned and premiered new works connecting Lithuanian and Japanese cultures, including HIRANO Ichirô’s FUTAGO NO TORI (Twin-soul Birds) — Rites & Games for Two Violins (2022), created during her residency at the Kanazawa Citizen’s Art Village, and S. Miliūnaitė’s Green Journey, incorporating nature recordings from both countries. She also revived HIRANO Ichirô’s Kuuya in concert after a fifteen-year absence from the stage.

She has received numerous awards at international competitions and was officially commended by the Presidents of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaitė (2015) and Gitanas Nausėda (2020). Her prizes include the Grand Prix at the 7th Aoniyoshi Music Competition Nara Pro Stage, 2nd Prize at the Osaka International Music Competition, and 4th Prize at the Japan Classical Music Competition.

As a soloist, she has performed with orchestras in Lithuania and Japan, including the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra of Vilnius, and the Toyohashi Symphony Orchestra. In 2021, she served as co-concertmistress of the Davos Camerata at the Davos Festival in Switzerland. She has also appeared at the Harmos Festival and regularly performed at Munetsugu Hall in Nagoya. Her artistic residencies include the Kanazawa Citizen’s Art Village (2021–2022) and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Canada (2025).

Her interdisciplinary collaborations include projects with Kyōgen performer Miyake Tōkurō (Trio Akiniai), Ikenobo ikebana master Sugimoto Seimon (Ikebana Born from Music, 2020), and painter Morio Matsui (Kanda Myojin exhibition, 2021). Integrating live music with visual art, traditional Japanese aesthetics, and theatrical elements, these projects create immersive cross-cultural performance experiences. She also designs and performs in kimono-remake stage costumes that blend Japanese aesthetics with her artistic identity.

Her recent projects include producing the M.K. Čiurlionis 150th Anniversary Concert (2025) for the Lithuanian Embassy in Japan, a multimedia event inspired by his paintings and musical legacy. Since 2022, she has actively organized and performed in charity concerts supporting Ukraine, raising over 10 million yen to date.

Žydrė holds a Master’s degree in Solo Violin from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she also completed her Bachelor’s degree, and graduated from the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts.
