Žydrė is a Lithuanian violinist known for her innovative performance concepts, imaginative programming, and deep interest in interdisciplinary collaboration. Her work often explores the relationship between classical and contemporary music, dialogue between cultures, and the fusion of sound with visual arts, dance, literature, and multimedia forms. Now based in Japan, she is continually researching Japanese contemporary composers and traditional aesthetics, while creating bridges between Lithuanian musical heritage, visual culture, and the poetic sensibilities of Japan.
Recognized for both her artistic vision and international achievements, she received official compliments from the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė (2015) and President Gitanas Nausėda (2020) for her international debut. Laureate of numerous competitions in Europe and Japan, she was awarded the Grand Prix and 1st Prize at the 7th Aoniyoshi Music Competition Nara Pro Stage, 2nd Prize at the 20th Osaka International Music Competition, 4th Prize at the 29th Japan Classical Music Competition, 1st Prize at the Lithuanian Chamber Music Competition, and multiple prizes at the S. Vainiūnas International Chamber Music Competition.
As a soloist, she has performed with Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, Kaunas Youth Chamber Orchestra, Vilnius St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, and the LMTA Symphony Orchestra. In Japan, she appeared as soloist at the 2023 subscription concert of the Toyohashi Symphony Orchestra. In 2021, she served as co-concertmistress of the Davos Camerata at the Davos Festival in Switzerland and held an artist residency at the Kanazawa Citizen’s Art Village (2021–2022).
Beyond performance, Žydrė is actively engaged in artistic production and cultural initiatives. Since 2022, she has organized and performed in numerous charity concerts in support of Ukraine, raising over 10 million yen to date. Her recent projects include multimedia concert concepts combining the paintings and musical legacy of M.K. Čiurlionis, cross-cultural collaborations, and interdisciplinary performance experiences rooted in both Japanese and Lithuanian traditions.
Born into a musical family, she began playing violin at an early age. She graduated from the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts in 2011, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA) in 2015, and completed her Master’s Degree in Solo Violin Performance in 2017.
